Services for You

CZSO Public database contains a large amount of data, namely over 30 million values. Data are offered to users mainly in a form of pre-defined data objects (tables, graphs, maps). For most data objects you can use optional parameters (geographic area, time period, indicator) to specify the required output.

All displayed data objects can be printed and tables can be also exported to XLS format.

New services coming soon

  • The possibility of exporting data to XML format
Data presented in CZSO Public database can be exported into XML format, which is defined in XML schema at http://vdb.czso.cz/xml/VDBOut.xsd. The output XML file contains statistical data and relevant metadata – codes and texts of classifications and code-lists from Statistical Metainformation System of the Czech Statistical Office. Users can select the range of metadata (texts, codes or detailed metadata) in the exported file. So far, it is possible to export only data for selected parameters of the presented table. The option to export all data for all parameters of the presented table is in testing. Your comments and suggestions are welcome at vdb@czso.cz.
  • The possibility of own data output from the Public database (VDB)
Each user will be able to select the required data directly from VDB using a new tool. Passing through selections of geographic area, time period, indicators and details the user will be able to get data in a form of data matrix with the possibility of print, export to XLS and XML format. In case of large-scale data the result will be sent to the user by e-mail in the chosen format (XLS, XML).
The direct selection tool is in the development and testing phase. Launch is expected in early 2010.
  • Linking indicators to specific tables in VDB
Metainformation on the indicator selected from the list of indicators will also include a list of tables in which this indicator is actually used. This way, data access will be possible not only through thematic chapters or text searching but also through pages with descriptions and definitions of statistical indicators.
