What has the VDB to offer?
- CZSO Public database (VDB) is intended to become the portal to the world of statistical information that is produced by Czech Statistical Office (CZSO).
- VDB provides comfortable access to CZSO statistical data together with methodical information. All data are available at one place through the Internet browser instead of gathering several publications at CZSO website or even intranet.
- In addition to statistical data, VDB also contains relevant metadata, which correctly identify and describe the data. This is to prevent users from misinterpretation of the indicators.
- VDB also offers graphical representation of the data in forms of charts and maps.
- Future development plans also include user-customized output - creating of user-defined tables, saving user preferences and offering other tools for better work with data and metadata.

Where can I find data or tables?
- To view any table please go to the TABLES section in the main menu (also sections GRAPHS or MAPS) and select the category (chapter) best corresponding to your field of interest and then browse through the list of tables.
If you are looking for a specific number, you will probably like to use our search tool to locate the tables which include the requested information.

Is it possible to somehow customize the data selection?
- One of the goals of the VDB is to have functionality for user queries. Unfortunately, for the present this is only available to internal users through a special application for creating tables. We want to develop this application that will work also in web browsers, to make it available for general public.
- Database is designed to provide any single data, so we are already offering tables with a number of optional parameters, allowing user to customize the table in some limited ways.

Which browsers does the VDB support?
-
100% functionality of the VDB web application is guaranteed for the Internet Explorer version 5.5 and Mozilla Firefox version 1.5. We are also testing the VDB to be compatible with Opera 9 and Internet Explorer 7 browsers.
